Raymond Goins
In February, Atlanta blog Peak of Chic featured the work of Raymond Goins. A mere glance at Goins’ creations was all it took to whet my palate and a couple of weeks later, I met Raymond at his studio, RL Goins, northeast of Buckhead.
During my tour, I witnessed firsthand the detailed artistry and craftsmanship of Raymond’s designs. Hand-painted screens and lamps, hand-carved beds and commodes, along with hundreds of finishes in every color, shade, glaze, crackle, and sheen imaginable showcase the reach of his capabilities.
Though RL Goins has a number of furniture & accessories in its collection, Raymond is quick to point out that if a customer can dream it up, he can make it. He has an extensive portfolio to showcase his custom abilities with everything from custom beds, armoires and outdoor furniture to custom wall-coverings and murals. Quality is at the forefront of all RL Goins’ designs…and it comes through in each piece. As an RL Goins ad says, “100% Man Made…0% Mass Made, Solid to the core.”

The “Albero Di Vita Screen” features a hand-painted scene on leather.

This scene is created by a process of reverse painting and this piece is also hand-glazed with inlaid gilt divisions between each panel.

True to his word, a client dreamed up this piece for their Florida home and commissioned RL Goins to create it. The artistry doesn’t end at the façade either, the inside panels are hand-painted & detailed as well.

This contemporary étagère is wrapped in a woven fabric, hand-glazed, and then sealed for durability. This piece can be sized and customized to match your interior & vision.

Another stylish piece is this outdoor swing, which was custom-made for this home.

RL Goins has a large collection of lamps as well. All created & embellished with the same fine craftsmanship as his other pieces. Most lamps can be UL listed, which is a must for hospitality projects.
